What brought you to Lithuania?
I was originally hired on a short-term contract to establish a company in Lithuania for a Danish partner – but I decided to stay when I fell in love with a Lithuanian lady and saw that Lithuania was full of opportunities. It was tough to find a foothold at first, but we’ve managed to build a nice life here.

One good and one not so good observation about Lithuania?
Lithuanians are extremely stubborn. This is good because they never give up, but the flip side is that they can be very unwilling to take advice.

What are the main differences between Lithuanians and your compatriots?
Lithuanians are more emotional in their decision making, whereas Danes are more analytical and focused on planning.

What have you learned from Lithuanians?
In my private life, I now enjoy not planning too far ahead. I’ve learned to take things as they come and be relaxed enough to say “yes” to an impromptu invitation or last-minute plan.

What is your favourite place in Lithuania?
Definitely Vilnius. I love living here, having guests visit, and showing them around – especially in the summer time.

What is the funniest (or strangest) thing happened to you in Lithuania?
I met my future wife!

What does the kitchen mean to you?
I am usually in charge of the cooking at home. I love to experiment with new recipes when I have the time, but I also enjoy trying new dishes when we dine out. The restaurant choices are great in Vilnius and there is always a new place to check out.
